Aerosmith's Joe Perry will open for Motley Crue at GM Place

Aerosmith had to cancel its scheduled gig at B.C. Place a few months ago after vocalist Steven Tyler injured himself during a show, and lately there have been rumours circulating that he's left the legendary band for good. But diehard fans of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry will get to see him in action when the Joe Perry Project opens for Motley Crue at GM Place on January 24, 2010.

Perry will be focusing on tunes from his new solo album, Have Guitar, Will Travel, but who's to say he won't throw in the odd Aerosmith gem that he sang lead on? "Bright Light Fright", anyone?

Headliner Motley Crue is touring behind its ninth studio album, Saints of Los Angeles, which is based on its bestselling book, The Dirt.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 20) at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com/.

Maybe Joe Perry should see if Paul Stanley wants to be Aerosmith's new singer.

Please don't mention Aerosmith in the same breath as KISS. One rules, the other sucks, respectively.

Correction: Aerosmith ruled. In the '70s. You'll never hear me deny that "Toys in the Attic", "Sweet Emotion" et al. are classics. They even did the one good Beatles cover in that horrific Sgt. Pepper movie. But you and I both know that something essential to Aerosmith's character died sometime in the '80s. And don't get me started on "Don't Want to Miss a Thing".

And yes, KISS sucks.

But I'm talking as a live entity. I saw Aerosmith in concert a few years back at GM Place and they were awesome. They blew coheadliners Motley Crue off the freakin' stage (not that that's difficult). Sadly, bassist Tom Hamilton was sitting out due to health problems, but the other four originals kicked it. So I stand by my assertion that they rule (unless they've now broken up, which is possible).

damn i really wanna see this concert! Joe fuckin Perry and Motley Crue...awesome. i hope Joe and Steven Tyler make up tho...it would suck ass if Aerosmith broke up for good.

and btw KISS doesn't suck. they r heavy metal pioneers. lets see you douches make your own damn band! and why the hell would Paul Stanley sing for Aerosmith? he has his own band. hellooo! Aerosmith is just not Aerosmith without Steven.
