Video: Robert Knipstrom detained and tasered by RCMP before death

On November 17, Chilliwack RCMP released a video of the November 24, 2007, apprehension of Robert Knipstrom.

Knipstrom, 36, was pepper sprayed, tasered, and hit with batons. The video shows him handcuffed face down, bloodied, and crying in pain. He died in a hospital five days later.

Prior to his arrest, Knipstrom was allegedly acting aggressively.

Here is an excerpt of the video made available on YouTube:

In related news, on November 16, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip and civil-rights advocates called for the RCMP to release a video of the 2003 arrest of Clayton Alvin Willey, who also died shortly after his arrest.

According to the Globe and Mail, Willey was knocked to the ground, hog-tied, kicked, pepper sprayed, and repeatedly tasered. He died of a heart attack just a few hours later.

the cops say he had cocain in his body and was the cause of death. somehow i have a feeling that dude would still be alive if he hadn't been beaten , hogtied and tazered . More people are dying at the hands of cops with tazers than from cocain overdoses. how stupid do they think we are ???
