Follow the thundering drums to the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre on Friday and Saturday nights (December 11 and 12), when Uzume Taiko celebrates its homecoming after tours through Germany and Eastern Canada. The ensemble has pushed beyond cultural boundaries and come up with its own fusions over the years, but for this show, titled Taiko & Take (Japanese Drums and Bamboo), it thumps its way back to its pure, traditional roots in the centuries-old drumming of Japan. Bamboo shakuhachi and shinobue flutist Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos promises to add to the atmosphere.
