2010 Winter Olympics coverage hits big screens across Canada

Planning to watch the 2010 Winter Olympics on TV? If you're in Canada, you will have the option of getting out of your house and watching the Games on the big screen (in 5.1 digital surround sound, no less).

For the first time, 64 Cineplex theatres across the nation will devote one auditorium each day (from February 12 to 28, 2010) to show live coverage of the Olympics in Vancouver.

Theatre passports ($29.95), which provide access for all 17 days of the Games (and can be shared with friends and family), will be available (at participating theatres) from December 18. Individual one-day tickets ($9.95) will go on sale on January 15, 2010.

For a list of participating locations (as well as links to the Olympic event schedule), visit either the Cineplex site or the RDS Olympiques site (pour l'information en franí§ais).

Vancouverites who aren't able to catch the events live will be able to watch coverage at Richmond's SilverCity Riverport.
