Vancouver police have found a stash of ecstasy pills stamped with the Olympic rings.

Officers responding to a 911 call about a home invasion in the 4300 block of Nanaimo Street discovered the drugs, according to a Vancouver Police Department press release sent out today (December 10).

Police seized 107,000 ecstasy pills (worth over $1 million on the street), as well as a six-ounce “partial brick” of cocaine ($17,000).

“Some of the ecstacy tablets were imprinted with peace signs and the Olympic rings,” the release stated.

In the release, Inspector Brad Desmarais of the department’s gangs and drugs section called the find “one of the top 5 largest seizures in Vancouver”.

Charges have not yet been laid against two men arrested by the police. They have both been released with conditions.

Ecstasy is a psychoactive drug that contains—or is represented as containing—the synthetic substance 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA.

Oooh! A big fancy word! That means it must be bad for you! What BS. Ex should not be illegal except that people think it's fun so we're all very busy outlawing fun when and wherever possible.

Is it really about the money? Why don't you just say "Police today seized 10 million hours of sheer joy".

MDMA has a far lower harm potential than either cigarettes or alcohol.

Please everyone should morally be against all forms of drug prohibition it artificially creates these black markets.

Even notable Vancouver judges and police are against prohibition.

That's probably the only thing associated with the Olympics that the homeless can approve of.

Funny how 100 000 of them are worth over 1 million dollars. You can buy them at any rave or night club for cheaper than a beer. And you don't even have to tip the dope dealer. High school kids can buy them easier than beer.
But more importantly here I think, is the olmpic logo copywrite infringement. The courts should throw the book at these guys here for that! This is certainly appaling. To think all that ecstasy could have been sold without vanoc getting their cut! Pity.

Good job Vancouver PD for taking this stuff of the street. This is stuff should DEFINITELY be ILLEGAL!! Despite what some ignorent people say, ecstacy and MDMA causes brain damage, it actually puts holes in your brain!! All Drugs should be illegal for that matter, they all cause health problems and make people irrational, people turn violent and families are broken apart. People steal and rob for drugs. Drugs are the center of most Violent crime. What we need to do is keep this stuff illegal but hand out TOUCHER SENTENCES for traffickers of all levels!!! Thats how you keep drug abuse rates down!!! Cut of the supply by detering drug dealers from selling in the first place.

Andrew. Tougher sentences don't prevent ANYTHING all it would do is rise the price of the drug it's self. So insted of paying $5 a pill it would be $10. Just like toughing up the boarders never stoped people from growing dope. They just have to sell it localy and weed went from $3000 a lb to $2000 a lb. People who sell drugs hope you keep them illeagle. Make them harder to sell, so they will make more $$$. You think the guys here who got busted can't afford the BEST lawyer and get off easily?
The toughest laws don't mean anything, when your rich. Don't belive me??

Andrew, if drugs such as these were made legal, it would GREATLY DECREASE violent crime and drug related crime. think about it, there isn't violent crime relating to the sale of alcohol, that's stupid. If MDMA were made legal the dangerous dealers would be put out of business. i don't think it should be legal but your claims are stupid. and your calling us ignorant?? learn your facts, mdma does NOT make holes in your brain. This MYTH was started by a segment Oprah did on ecstasy in which it showed a brain scan of a METH, mdma, and marijuana ABUSER. This brain scan appeared to have large holes missing from the brain, in fact these holes actually represented a 1-3% decrease in blood flow to that particular part, although this was not thurougly explained on the show. Now before you start calling names, learn your shit.

haaha people who try to prohibit extacy need to take a pill themselfs. if the own persons choose to do that drug then thats thier choice and. if they die well thats thier mistake we dont see courts trying to prohibit sucide!!
