Like the choices made by the New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Kathryn Bigelow was named best director for The Hurt Locker and Fantastic Mr. Fox was selected as best animated film.
The Cove, which was a Georgia Straight cover story in August, was named best documentary.
Best foreign language film went to Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon, which screened at this year's Vancouver International Film Festival.
