Gordon Campbell has highest disapproval rating among premiers in Canada, poll shows

Gordon Campbell has the highest disapproval rating of any premier in Canada, a new survey shows.

The B.C. Liberal leader's disapproval rating is the worst out of the nine provincial premiers included in an on-line survey conducted late last month by Angus Reid Strategies.

Sixty-six percent of British Columbians polled said they disapprove of Campbell’s performance.

Only 21 percent of B.C. residents approved of his performance, while 14 percent weren’t sure about their opinion.

Campbell’s November approval rating, the fourth lowest among premiers, is actually an improvement.

In an August survey, Angus Reid found only 17 percent of citizens in B.C. approved of the Liberal premier.

Despite several controversies hounding the provincial government, Campbell’s Liberals managed to beat the B.C. NDP in this year’s May election.

Following on Campbell’s heels as the most unloved premiers are Shawn Graham of New Brunswick, with a disapproval rating of 63 percent; Ed Stelmach of Alberta, with 61 percent; and Dalton McGuinty of Ontario, with 56 percent.

The best rated premiers are Danny Williams of Newfoundland and Labrador, with an approval rating of 78 percent; Brad Wall of Saskatchewan, with 58 percent; and Darrell Dexter of Nova Scotia, with 43 percent.

The poll did not include Prince Edward Island.

      I wouldn't call a 4% margin being trounced.

now, if only these people had bothered to vote, they wouldn't have been so unhappy, would they?

Campbell's approval rating was only 2nd lowest; his disapproval rating was the highest. Hard to criticize the guy for doing a bad job when you can't even manage your own simple one...

So Campbell is BC's version of Bush.

Why in the hell did we ever get stuck with this guy and why are the NDP in such disarray?

Vote for what? For who? We were given a pretty bad choice the last two elections.

Figures don't lie but liars figure.

when i read the survey Stelmach and McGuinty were lower. If you notice the author gave Campbel'ls approval rating percentage but with the other two he used the disapproval rating. Apples and oranges lets be consistent grank all of them as to approval rating

Looked up the poll, there were three other premiers who had lower approval ratings:

      Stemach 14%
      McGuinty 18%
      Graham 20%

never take the word of the press right or left wing, they definitley have a bias. Before mr Pablo manipulates the numbers in a different way, a quick resposne to "are my numbers correct?" would be appreciated

I wouldn't call a 4% margin being trounced. For example imagine a turd now imagine one that smells 4% worse - is it really worse in the whole scheme of things? Or should we just keep trying to polish it?

      Fartcatch much?
