Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore slams scribes for criticizing Canada's Olympic pavilion

Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore has condemned local journalists for criticizing the Canada Pavilion at the 2010 Games.

In an interview with Stephen Quinn on CBC Radio, Moore said the local media ripped into the building before it was completed.

The Conservative MP  spared the national media from his wrath.

This occurred despite CBC Radio's As It Happens program broadcasting an interview earlier this week  with a spokesperson for the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, who condemned Ottawa's refusal to commission an architectural competition to design the building.

Never mind the pavilion, what about the seriously horrible version of Oh Canada at the opening ceremonies? As a a city and a nation we have been told for years to let our pride show more openly, yet some dimbulb decided to arrange an unrecognizable and impossible to sing along with version of our anthem. 60,000 sat in stunned silence as they suffered though the "american idol" version of Oh Canada, utterly unable to sing along with the overwrought rendition. If I had paid the enormous ticket price to attend, I would be feeling cheated out of what should have been a great moment in our history. Vanoc, the artistic director, and to a lesser degree the vocalist should all be ashamed of themselves.

IMO, James Moore behaves more like Stephen Harper's butler and all around man-servant than a Cabinet Minister with some responsibilities to the 2010 Games. Ask him what investigation if any he is doing with respect to the Shaw takeover of CanWest Global -- including some of the recent 'fight's relating to television broadcasters looking for cable compensation using basic cable stations. CanWest's own employees informed my company months (years) ago that community stations were being abandoned, and Shaw has clearly advertised (during the broadcaster/cable dispute) that it provides most of the broadcast needs in these communities in any event.

This is the area of mandate of his work, not being a 'ticket scalper' and 'bully' of local reporting. Everyone is complaining about the Canada pavilion -- so why is Moore shooting the messenger?

Typical Moore to attack the messenger.

Remember when he went after that journalist when the controversy about the Chuck Cadman affair resurfaced a few years back, Moore was out front and centre alleging a tape recording of then Stephen Harper discussing negotiations with Cadman with reporter Tom Zytaruk had been doctored, based on two experts hired by the Conservative party.

However, later in a court filing as a result of a libel suit by Harper against the Liberals, one of the experts back tracked on the doctoring allegations saying the key part of the tape did not have alterations, edits or splicing.

Moore has never apologized to that reporter

I remember watching/listening to James Moore (CPAC) Yelling at the opposition, after a critical vote, he called them "Losers". What Mr. Moore forgot was that the cameras were still rolling! He probably forgot that he was an elected official (?). I took it personal. He lacks the basic respect required a public official in government. I hope he steps in poo.

Moore is another Harpo Clone. Enjoy it while you can Neo-Con and remember why you're booted out of office.

Was it not supplied and manufactured by an american company?

How completely representative of Harper's government: under-thought, contracted, and american.
