The Straight presents Broken Bells at the Commodore

The Georgia Straight is presenting Broken Bells, with guests Morning Bender, at the Commodore Ballroom on Wednesday, May 26.

The group is composed of James Mercer, frontman for Portland's Grammy-nominated Shins, and Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse. It will be performing tunes from its self-titled debut album, which was released March 9.

Tickets are priced at $35 and go on sale to the general public this Saturday (April 3) at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com/.

Awesome music. But, with all the ridiculous charges this show will come to almost $50. I just lost a bit of respect for James Mercer and Danger Mouse. A new band doesn't get off charging this much. Oh, but I see, there's a Grammy-nomination connection. What a joke.

Mind you, The Morning Benders are pretty good too.

Yeah, $50 is steep. I have really enjoyed the videos of them playing live though, so I think I'll still go. I just hope I can find some one to go with.
