Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock to write music for Cartoon Network

If the last time you were up early enough to watch Saturday morning cartoons was when your mom still bought your underwear, now would be a good time to get yourself a box of Froot Loops and flick on the Cartoon Network. Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock will reportedly be writing music for an episode of Thurop Van Orman’s animated series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack .

The collaboration was announced when Van Orman took to his blog on Wednesday, writing: “Isaac Brock of MODEST MOUSE is collaborating with us for some music on an upcoming Flapjack Special. He is about the greatest guy around, and is doing some kickass music with us. And Flapjack is his favorite show! WOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is a 22-minute cartoon about a boy in search of a fabled island made of candy. A scheduled air-time for the special episode has not yet been announced, so those anxious to see the show will just have to sit tight in their teddy-bear patterned pyjamas.

I think the Misadventures of Flapjack is a marvelously done cartoon. Life lessons are all over in every episode and I think the jokes that go right over my kids' heads are hilarious. I just got a Sling Adapter from my work, DISH Network, and Flapjack is the number one DVR I constantly stream onto my Android. I can also stream live TV with the same technology so we're always entertained. Now you’re telling me MM has a hand in this already incredible show? SWEET!
