The first thing you notice about Russell Brand is that freaky rats-nest of a hairdo he's got happening, what with that big matted lump at the back of his head.

The second thing you notice is that he's whip-smart and funny as hell. If you want proof of that you can head out out to Seattle's Moore Theatre this Friday (April 23) and see for yourself.

Here are some fun facts to ponder about the 34-year-old comedian, actor, columnist, and author:

His cat is named after singer Morrissey from the Smiths.

He has been a vegetarian since the age of 14.

He has been arrested 11 times.

He's engaged to pop star Katy Perry of "I Kissed a Girl" fame.

At the 2004 NME Awards, former Georgia Straight music editor Bob Geldof called him a "cunt", to which Brand replied: "Really it's no surprise he's such an expert on famine. He has after all been dining out on 'I Don't Like Mondays' for 30 years."

      Ouch!

There are still some tickets left for Brand's Seattle gig. They're US$33 (plus service charge) and available here.
