Chin Injeti lands on Slim Shady’s Recovery

Producer Chin Injeti couldn’t reveal any names when he told the Straight last year about some upcoming work with one of hip-hop’s biggest stars. The penny finally dropped on June 22 with the release of Eminem’s Recovery. Injeti scores writing and performance credits on “Almost Famous” and “Talkin’ 2 Myself”, with production being handled by his partner, DJ Khalil. Injeti and Khalil’s group the New Royales, meanwhile, also contributed to “25 to Life” and “Won’t Back Down”.

“I feel pretty blessed,” Injeti told the Straight. “ ”˜Talkin’ 2 Myself’ is a joint that we did where we were, like, ”˜This’d be perfect for Eminem,’ and then it manifested!”

Injeti said he’s “ecstatic” about the results. “I think Em sounds better than ever, and I’m so happy that we did ”˜Talkin’ 2 Myself’, because it’s a really positive song about him being back and apologizing for being a jerk in the past. It’s pretty incredible!”

Next up for Injeti is a New Royales mix tape, which should be released “in about a month”.
