Teen moms rejoice. Now you can show off that baby bump in trendy outfits that will be the envy of your friends.

Okay, maybe that’s not what clothing retailer Forever 21 was thinking when it launched its new maternity wear line in states that are among those with the highest rates of teen pregnancy.

But it certainly seems like it.

The thrifty chic store known for its stylish clothing lines predominately serves teenagers and young women, so it might come as a bit of surprise that it has ventured into the world of maternity clothes.

Normally stores that unveil new lines in select stores will pick larger metropolitan markets like L.A. and New York to test the waters. But not this time.

Love 21 Maternity is only available in Arizona, Texas, California, Utah, and Alaska.

The first three states are reportedly in the top 10 with the highest rates of teen pregnancy, Utah boasts one of the highest birthrates in the United States, and you can’t say “teen pregnancy” without thinking about former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter.

Yes, the likes of Bristol Palin have made the protruding baby belly the new must-have of the season, and shows like MTV’s 16 and Pregnant have glamourized getting knocked up in your teenage years.

So, maybe it’s no surprise that companies like Forever 21 are jumping on the bandwagon.
