Video: The Dead Weather soak Seattle with feedback-fueled blues

Alison Mosshart and Jack White share the mic as if no one is watching.

With Pemberton long gone, Virgin Fest cancelled, and no word on Rock the Bells returning for a second hit, Vancouver music junkies have been left fiending for their next right fix.

Seattle recently came up with the good stuff. Last weekend (July23-25), the Capital Hill Block Party took over the streets of our southern neighbour and shot the city full of a musical cocktail eclectic enough to keep everyone from hipsters to hip-hop heads jumping.

Here’s the festival’s closer, the demented lovechild of Jack White and Alison Mosshart that is the Dead Weather, delivering “The Difference Between Us”, roughly halfway through the scuzz-rock outfits’ 90-minute set.

And here's the back-half of an extended version of “Will There Be Enough Water?”, which clocked in at over 10 minutes to see White and Mosshart lay bare the black magic that fuels this group’s frenetic reconstruction of the blues.
