Citizens interested in social change and social media will gather for the first NetSquared Camp Vancouver on Saturday (August 14).
The “unconference” aims to bring together nonprofits, activists, techies, social-media enthusiasts, and others for a day of skill development and peer learning.
Proposed sessions, which are listed on the participant-driven camp’s wiki, address topics such as using social media to shift public opinion, choosing a content management system, and taking advantage of Internet memes.
Hosted by Net Tuesday Vancouver, the event will go down between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Simon Fraser University’s Harbour Centre location (515 West Hastings Street).
Prospective participants can register on Eventbrite. Admission is by donation ($20 suggested).
On Saturday, people will be able to follow the camp's proceedings on Twitter by monitoring the hashtag #n2camp.
