If the idea of a puppet show makes you think of Punch and Judy or Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop, then prepare to have your expectations blown away at the artful Legendary Puppets show at TaiwanFest. Tien-Lu Lee’s I-Wan-Jan not only brings its elaborate wooden puppets to vivid life but engages them in the kind of chop-socky and acrobatic stunts that would impress Jackie Chan. The troupe presents The Monkey King on Saturday and Sunday (September 4 and 5) at the Tom Lee Music Stage, in the 700 block of Granville Street downtown.
