Project Nightfire projects operatic imagery on Vancouver Art Gallery exterior walls
A new guerrilla art installation this weekend is going to reach operatic heights.
Rival Schools, the design firm that does the Vancouver Opera's groundbreaking manga series, is launching Project Nightfire Friday and Saturday (September 9 and 10) on the exterior walls of the Vancouver Art Gallery's Georgia Street facade.
Look up, way up, to see the animated images telling the story of a fallen angel, all set to the weeping sounds of Giacomo Puccini's famous aria Nessun Dorma.
Watch animation, architecture, opera, and public art meld into a new fusion at 9 p.m. both nights. The work runs about six minutes.
