Awesome on stage, Aerosmith can't quit playing concerts after Vancouver

It's hard for me to type this, because it means I'm not looking at my '70s rock heroes as they rip through unbelievably shitkicking versions of "Same Old Song and Dance" and "Train Kept A-Rollin'" from 1974's Get Your Wings, then follow it with "No More No More" from the breakthrough Toys in the Attic.

Heck, even song number four, the locally made "Love in an Elevator", sounds awesome.

These guys can't quit playing concerts. I forbid it.

Georgia Straight music writer Steve Newton is posting items of interest from tonight's (September 16) Aerosmith concert at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Check out the full review tomorrow at www.straight.com/music.

Except that they don't allow pot smoking anymore, we were ejected 4th song in.

The old stuff did sound unreal, a real shitkicker of a concert.
Joan Jett was very good, too.
Guys were smoking doobies around us and never got caught. Too bad.
