Nine months after the Vision Vancouver-dominated park board voted to close it citing a budget crunch, commissioners have voted unanimously to keep the Bloedel Conservatory open.

At the board meeting last night (September 20), it was agreed that the park board would partner with VanDusen Botanical Garden to keep the facility running up at Queen Elizabeth Park. Now the VanDusen Botanical Garden will have the conservatory under its umbrella and work in conjunction with the park board to revive the facility and work out budgetary issues at a later date.
