Elementary and high school students in Metro Vancouver don’t have to pay for their transit rides this week.

From today to Friday (October 4 to 8), TransLink is letting youth who would normally pay concession fares get on the bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus for free.

High schoolers must show a valid GoCard to take advantage of the offer.

It’s part of the annual International Walk to School Week.

According to a September 22 press release from TransLink, the aim of the week of free rides is to inform kids about transportation options and to facilitate school field trips.
