Video: Japandroids rocking at ease at the Rickshaw in Vancouver

There’s nothing like playing with home field advantage. You know the cheers are going to be a little louder, the crowd a bit more forgiving and open to new material, and the night a chance for the band to have as much fun as the audience.

And so Vancouver’s own post-garage warriors Japandroids looked at ease for the duration of their Saturday night (October 9) set at the Rickshaw Theatre.

The pair of East Van rockers named Brian King and David Prowse played hard and fast, turning the concert held in the neighbourhood they still call home into a feedback-driven rowdy mess of a house party.

From over 200 shows into Japandroids’s ongoing Post-Nothing Tour, here’s the night’s official opener (after a “little warm-up”), "Art Czars".
