Megan Follows to hit Playhouse stage

Little Anne is all grown up and ready for the Vancouver Playhouse stage.

The local theatre company has announced Megan Follows, who gained fame as the red-maned title character of the 1985 TV series Anne of Green Gables, will star in its production of This in January 2011.

The urban comedy, which premiered off-Broadway last year, tells the story of the poet and single mother Jane, whose life is in a shambles.

It's the Canadian premiere of the script by Vancouver playwright Melissa James Gibson, and runs January 8 to 29. Amiel Gladstone directs.
