Video: Canada sweeps Fossil of the Day "awards" after first day of Cancun climate conference

Canada is off to a great start at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun.

From the perspective of those unconcerned about rising levels of greenhouse-gas emissions, that is.

The first set of Fossil of the Day "awards" have been handed out at the COP16 conference, and Canada won first, second, and third prize.

This dubious honour is given at climate-change conferences by an international coalition of environmental groups to the countries that "perform the worst during the past day’s negotiations".

At last year's UN conference in Copenhagen, Canada took home the Fossil of the Year for the third year in a row.

We deserve it. There isn't a origianl idea coming from Ottawa unless it's proposed by Big Business. And look at the fossels running the government. Wow! Should we be proud of them? NOT!

Ummm ... those girls are really hippy hippies. No vegan diets for those environmentalists!

Definitely deserved. This once proud nation is now an environmental and political toilet. Shame on the citizens of Canada, you have only yourselves to blame for falling so far.
