A Celtic-folk-rock Christmas Celebration at the Billy Bishop Legion

Fuck peace on earth, good will towards men, and flying reindeer—you know what Christmas is really all about? The answer is gluttony. That’s right, stuffing your face with enough shortbread cookies and mincemeat tarts to give yourself gout, and chugging back the booze in quantities guaranteed to turn ye olde liver into something resembling mould-caked Swiss cheese. Don’t bother fighting it. Instead, head to the Billy Bishop Legion hall on Saturday (December 18) for what’s being billed as a Celtic folk-rock celebration featuring the Knackers (above), the Whiskey Dicks, the Gentle Infidels, the Creaking Planks, Craic!, and Cameron Gunn. If said bands have something in common, it’s that they enjoy a good party. And really, what screams party like Christmas—which is another way of saying we don’t want to see you put that bottle down until you’re one shot away from honking your guts out on the dance floor.
