Medicinal pot dispensary set to open in South Vancouver

A new medicinal marijuana dispensary is set to open tomorrow (January 8) in South Vancouver.

The Imedikate Cannabis Dispensary, located at 6128 Fraser Street, will provide pot to patients with such serious medical conditions as cancer, arthritis, and HIV/AIDS.

Clients must provide proof of illness or a doctor’s recommendation to obtain pot from the dispensary.

Imedikate will also have an in-house doctor to evaluate applicants who can’t find a supportive medical practitioner, says a news release from the non-profit group.

There are five other medicinal cannabis dispensaries already operating in Vancouver.

Compassion clubs serve well but the one thing not compassionate is the street cost of medicine. The place I go to charges 10.00-12 dollars a gram. They do not overweigh to make up for sticks and lumber, so after a few months of 20.00 purchases, maybe 3 times a week, it is unacceptable to be paying for stem and stick. They need to lower the prices and take a loss and stop applying business ideology, to the selling of cannabis. Larger amounts also need to be reduced in price...

"They need to lower the prices and take a loss and stop applying business ideology, to the selling of cannabis."

They need to take a loss?

How long do you think they'd be in business?

Consider the price you are paying a premium as the cannibas you are getting is organic. Free of chemicals and all the other crap you've been inhaling with the other weed.

The Vancouver Cannabis Dispensary Society charges between $6 and $10 per gram for their medicine. They have a vast array of medicinal marijuana products and extracts. They have two locations in Vancouver and do nationwide mail-order too.

You can see their whole menu online here: http://cannabisdispensary.ca/node/13

I think the clubs are doing a good job. If the USA didn't effect our street prices so much then they would be much lower. They pay 30 a gram in USA so i geuss were still not doing too bad. Would still be nice to have our own market not effected by them.

think this will bring more deaths and misery as the police resources are stretched to the max because of a never ending crime wave caused by drugs

Joe SHOE, Ignatieff said in the media this past summer that the Liberals want to revisit decriminalization. Please consider supporting the only federal party who has ever seriously brought forth legislation decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana.

Staff, rent, security and start up cost, suppliers have huge cost also, hydro, rent, start up cost, electrical inspections, processing testing packaging, legal defense etc....... any time you want to start giving away cannabis at a loss i will be your first patient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even charities and other non profits have cost to operate dummy!!!!!
