Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords warned of consequences from Sarah Palin's map

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords said last year that there are "consequences" when people like former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin invoke violent images.

Giffords, who was shot in the head today outside a Safeway store in Tucson, was commenting on MSNBC about how her office was vandalized. This occurred following her vote in favour of the Democrats' health-care legislation.

Palin's political action committee included Giffords' district on a map of 20 House districts that were being targeted.

"We're on Sarah Palin's targeted list," Giffords said at the time. "But the thing is that way she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gunsight over our district. When people do that, they've got to realize there are consequences to that action."

Instead of putting out lies, you may want to do a fact check. The idiot gunman had NO ties to the Tea Party or to Sarah Palin.

It would be nice if you liberal wackos would do some real research for once.

Notice his diatribes against the government (and not once a mention to the tea party or Sarah Palin- whom I can't stand anyway). But, what you will notice is the link a gun site and this product:

      Background on the shooter:

There was also a statement made by Rep Lopez stating the gunman was also a vet from the Afghan war. That also turned out not to be true since the Army rejected him. The lunatic was never associated with any conservative movement whatsoever. He is a registered Democrat that had major run ins with the Pima College Campus Police, dropped out of high school and was a noted pot smoking Liberal.

If I were sarah palin I would think twice about the cross hairs thing again. I would use that for her hunting and slaughter of animals.

I find Palin's targeting of Giffords on her PAC's crosshair map disgusting and deserving of legal action. I am convinced that a 9 year old girl, a federal judge, and 3 elderly people died because of her vicious activity. She needs to be reigned in by the families of those constituents she endangered.

      Stop the Violence!

Sarah Palin needs to be held accountable at least as an inciter of violence. She could be charged as an accessory to murder, attempted murder, and I am sure any number of other charges.

It is not OK to create a climate of violence and intimidation especially when you expect to have good quality representation in your elected officials.

The next time you hear a JOKE about harm or death to a politician - call that person on their rhetoric. It may sound like a joke in the moment but the whack job standing behind you may very well take it as gospel or a sign from God to take action. Lets all take a moment to be a part of the solution instead of a part of the problem.

Sarah Palin and the "Tea Party" went way too far with their militant rhetoric. It sounds like they want another civil war. I will be surprised and disappointed if they don't get charged under terrorism laws for this.

There may be enough for civil litigation against Palin. Is is sufficient for a criminal investigation - she knowingly encouraged a culture of potential violence. This is the United States, it isn't Canada - there is a history of violence against politicians - and I expect that Ms. Palin - who doubtless would not approve of these actions in any way, does exhibit herself as a weapons owner, and thus values the use of weapons - even if just for hunting.

But the map infers the potential for hunting in cities - with more circles in Democratic ridings-------and the context of the article is directed at politicians, rather than moose.

      This tragedy is momentus.

Buddy, every one of the hunters I've spent time with would be disgusted by Palin's criminally stupid portrayal of hunting (as seen on TV). But she's not good at any human pursuit save being a celebrity for the wrong reasons. She's certainly not a decision-maker and I think the more we talk about her as a political player, the less likely we are to think of her backers - deep pocketed, low profile puppeteers. Who still thinks McCain was allowed to choose his running mate?
Palin (warning: metaphor deployed) is a media parasite, emitting toxic memes as she draws strength from the body politic. The shootings in Tuscon and the campaign to take back congress from centrists are a good example of her failure to be a public figure worthy of any trust or respect.

The american war machine will ensure Palin makes it to the White house following Obama's lacklustre first term.
Should make for some good copy eh Charlie?!
