All six of the B.C. Liberal leadership contenders shared their plans for the province with a sold-out crowd of business elites this morning (January 18) in Vancouver.

Organized by the B.C. Chamber of Commerce, the Future Premier Business Panel took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The event gave businesspeople, who paid $75 and up to attend, the opportunity to submit questions to be asked of the candidates.

George Abbott, Christy Clark, Mike de Jong, Kevin Falcon, Ed Mayne, and Moira Stilwell discussed a variety of issues, including the HST, local government, and environmental-assessment processes.

According to the floor plan picture, one of the "corporations" reserving a booth location was the Michael Smith Foundation. I have been under the impression that the Smith Foundation was a medical research charitable trust.

Stephen, is it really necessary to use the pejorative term "elites"? Republicans in the States toss this same slur all of the time at Obama like he's somehow illigitimately occupying the position of president ... or that somehow accomplishment is a negative. It really is a bit hackish.

The sad irony of the term "sold out" should not be lost on anyone imo

Not one of these guys and girl will make a difference. We all need a change in the way goverenments govern and not one of these people will bring it.

The beauty of these somewhat pedantic exercise(s) - is we will NOW determine once and for all if james green's (many persons) theory of cynicism is the absolute reality.
