Georgia Straight reporter Carlito Pablo makes Filipino Who's Who in British Columbia
One of the Straight's ace reporters, Carlito Pablo, has been recognized in the 2011 edition of Dahong Pilipino: The Filipino Canadian Community & Business Directory.
In its annual list of Filipino Who's Who in British Columbia, Pablo gets a full-page profile along with nine other high achievers in the community.
As a journalist in the Philippines, Pablo covered numerous high-profile beats, including the Office of the President, the House of Representatives, the judiciary, military, police, and presidential elections.
Since joining the Straight in 2006, he has mostly written about hard news, including politics, police, civil rights, housing, immigration, education, the Olympics, and the harmonized sales tax.
The nine other Filipinos in this year's Who's Who are entertainer and early childhood educator Joey Albert, lawyer Sergio Cabal, hotel and casino executive Cecilia Guerrero, dentist Susan De Guzman, portrait artist Ed Lantin, entrepreneur Antonio Mangiliman, eye doctor and philanthropist Maria Roma-March, money-remittance company manager Josefina Marquez, and immigration consultant and civic leader Emer G. Robles.
