Feds promise $118,000 to revamp Surrey Arts Centre theatre

By Stephen Thomson,

The federal government is providing $118,000 to renovate a theatre in the Surrey Arts Centre.

New seating is to be purchased and installed in the centre’s Main Stage theatre by December to improve safety and comfort for audience members.

B.C. Conservative MP Nina Grewal today (February 23) announced the funding on behalf of heritage minister James Moore.

The Surrey Arts Centre, owned and operated by the city, serves as a venue for visual and performing arts. Both professional and community productions are held in the Main Stage theatre.
