While the Razzies were being announced last night, the Film Independent Spirit Awards were also being given out to the American independent film community who made films for less than $20 million.

With The Social Network not eligible for these awards and The King’s Speech relegated to the best foreign film category (which it won), Black Swan led the winners by scooping up best picture, best director (Darren Aronofsky), best female lead (Natalie Portman), and best cinematography.

Other Oscar nominees won most of the other awards.

James Franco won best male lead for 127 Hours, one of the only awards that the much-nominated film has actually won during this past awards season.

Winter’s Bone won two supporting acting awards: Dale Dickey for best supporting female and John Hawkes for best supporting male.

Possibly foreshadowing the Oscars, The Kids Are All Right won best screenplay while Exit Through the Gift Shop won best documentary.

The Robert Altman Award went to Nicole Holofcener’s Please Give, Mike Ott won the Acura Someone to Watch Award for Littlerock (which played at last year’s Vancouver International Film Festival), and Jeff Malmberg’s documentary Marwencol collected the Truer Than Fiction Award.
