The horrifying pictures and videos keep pouring out of Japan, as the country struggles to deal with the aftermath of a massive earthquake and tsunami.

According to Reuters, the Kyodo news agency has reported that the number of dead or missing people is expected to exceed 1,800.

BBC News said an estimated 170,000 people have been evacuated from the 20-kilometre radius around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, following an explosion at its Unit 1 reactor.

The Canadian Red Cross is accepting donations for relief efforts.
