Captain America: The First Avenger trailer reveals Steve Rogers' extreme physical transformation

The Avengers are slowly assembling. We've now had two Iron Man features and seen the trailers for the upcoming Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder.

Now, it's Cap's turn. The dramatic new trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger has finally hit the web, much to the delight of fans and to the consternation of exclamation mark buttons on keyboards the world over.

The CGI-effects-laden trailer show how Chris Evans' Steve Rogers undergoes an extreme physical transformation from a weakling straight out of those old-school beach-sand-kicking ads into a musclebound hero.

The Howling Commandos make an appearance. There's also a brief glimpse of Red Skull (played by Hugo Weaving). Didn't see Bucky in there (or maybe I didn't squint hard enough).

The film is out in theatres on July 22.

Anyhow, check it out and tell us what you think.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - "No, you move."
