Christy Clark expected to call Vancouver-Point Grey byelection
B.C. PremierChristy Clark is expected to announce details this afternoon of a byelection in the Vancouver-Point Grey riding.
A media advisory was issued by the premier's office today (April 13) indicating Clark will make an announcement "regarding the electoral district of Vancouver-Point Grey".
Clark confirmed on April 11 she will run for a legislature seat in the riding, but didn't say when she would call the byelection.
The Vancouver riding was held by former premier Gordon Campbell until last month.
Earlier this week, B.C. Civil Liberties Association executive director David Eby told the Straight he was considering running in Vancouver-Point Grey as a candidate for the B.C. New Democratic Party.
The NDP has yet to pick a candidate in the riding.
Clark's announcement is expected at 3:30 this afternoon.
