Good, old-fashioned nightmare fuel

So, after a night of extremely unrestful sleep (thanks, double-bean burrito), I got to thinking about bad dreams and nightmare fuel. You know, the stuff that gives you the heebie-jeebies no matter how old you are. And no, I’m not talking about that towering pile of laundry in the corner of your bathroom.

For me, the primo scary stuff is that scene from The NeverEnding Story with Gmork, some sort of vicious, wolf-demon hybrid with the freakiest yellow eyes I have ever seen. Not to mention teeth that make the shark from Jaws look tame by comparison.

Granted, my fears now gravitate more towards visions of him devouring my bank account rather than me, but still. Years later he still manages to unnerve me enough to make me just a little more apprehensive when walking home at night.

But then again, perhaps it’s just the questionable, ”˜80s-style special effects. Either way, still pretty creepy!

So Vancouver, what makes your toes curl up in terror?

I love me my scary movies... the latest one I've seen didn't really induce any nightmares, but it was pretty freaky. It was a french movie from a couple of years back called Martyrs, here's a trailer I found on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNpDiQimK6U Warning: Extreme fucked up violence.

You're right, that is some seriously fucked up violence there. Diggin' the song they use in it, though.
