Why: Dolce and Gabbana presented a plethora of white lace in their spring/summer 2011 collection and now every High Street store is following suit. I am a fan of this version by Guess—it’s a perfect throwback to the fresh fashion of the early ’90s. The subtle sweetheart neckline, halter tie, and bodice detailing, combined with such a full skirt, make this flattering for lots of body shapes. In fashion, opposites always attract. Keep things sweet and wear it with a vintage leather jacket and strappy heels like Gabrielle Union or rock this pretty mini with an army-inspired anorak and black booties like Kate Bosworth. Keep your makeup and hair au natural to complement the effortless-chic vibe.
