The Odd Couple

Our reporter Matthew Burrows tried contacting Environment Minister Peter Kent while he was in Vancouver to discuss the Harper government's plans to deal with climate change.

Instead, all we got was a photograph of smilin' Pete with an uncomfortable-looking Vancouver councillor Ellen Woodsworth.

I wonder if Harper's environmental hatchet man realizes that Woodsworth is a descendant of J.S. Woodsworth. He founded the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation, which later morphed into Kent's arch-nemesis, the NDP.

Somehow, I doubt that Woodsworth will be distributing this photo to her constituents in the November civic campaign.
