Your horoscope for June 16 to 22, 2011
The sun reaches solstice on Tuesday (June 21), which means it “stands still” and thereby creates the longest day of the year to officially launch summer. But in terms of standing still, very little will. Two eclipses have already occurred, and one is yet to come. Along with our spectacular Stanley Cup love affair/rollercoaster ride, June 15’s lunar eclipse is still at its peak, and Canada’s birthday eclipse (July 1) is en route. Eclipses are event catalysts that accelerate our karmic storyboard.
Mercury is a key player now. From June 16 to July 1, its visit to Cancer increases the emotional charge of the moment. Home, family, domestic matters, or a revisit or review of the past claims added attention. When you find yourself in a repeat of circumstances or living inside your memories, you’ll now know why. Mercury and the sun align with Neptune and Chiron over this next week, suggesting ready access to rich resources. The moment is primed to deliver a significant breakthrough in consciousness, or to experience a particularly poignant heart journey or a healing. Venus in harmony with Saturn suggests solid gains can now be made toward the karmic book balance.
Monday through Wednesday can diffuse it or rev it up. Whether it’s mail, flights, negotiations, or plans, high-gear Mars in Gemini, which takes place from June 20 to August 2, will get it moving.
Aries
March 21 - April 20
Whether or not the sun cooperates, Mars in Gemini (June 20 to August 2) will shift you into a summer swing. Kick back more. Go, do, be, and see as the mood strikes. Beyond this, the next month or so will accelerate a karmic circumstance. A piece of unfinished business, an ambition, or budding potential will now reach its time-is-ripe moment.
Taurus
April 21 - May 20
dmit it or not, you are of two minds. Perhaps it is about finances, intimate relationship matters, or how you feel about yourself. You may have been able to keep this inner dilemma somewhat muffled, but it will continue to occupy you until you get around to resolving it. Don’t let it be an intellectual exercise. Your feelings will speak more insistently now.
Gemini
May 21 - June 21
As the work week finishes, you can feel life falling into its proper place. Venus in Gemini harmonizing with Saturn delivers a sense of validation, accomplishment, and satisfaction. Monday through Wednesday, Mars in Gemini can make you feel like you are just awakening from a great night’s sleep. Through August 2, Mars will refresh your physical vitality, libido, and want list.
Cancer
June 22 - July 22
Do you have a sense that any moment now something will happen? If you do, then you are attuned to the stars. Tuesday’s summer solstice kicks off an exceptionally potent/fertile growth chapter. As the curtain pulls back, what it reveals can be nothing short of life-altering. Perhaps you already have a clue of your future; if not, you’ll know soon enough.
Leo
July 23 - August 22
A plan, purchase, ambition, contract, or alliance can solidify beautifully now. Friday’s alignment of Venus and Saturn delivers you to a plateau of successful accomplishments and results. Added respect and recognition can come your way, too. On Monday, social Mars in Gemini turns your attention towards a pleasure and play cycle. On Tuesday, the summer solstice turns on your creative and romance sprinkler.
Virgo
August 23 - September 22
At the same time that you are holding steady, you can be straddling, struggling, or juggling too. Take heart: you’ll soon get to where you need or want to be. Monday through Wednesday can bring a release, or put new writing on the wall. You could intend one thing, and do or convey another. It happens for a reason. If you can’t hold back, don’t.
Libra
September 23 - October 23
The end of the week should wrap up nicely, thanks to Venus in harmony with Saturn. But don’t plan to twiddle your thumbs; there’s money to make, people to see, and living and loving to do. Sunday’s Mercury/Uranus and Monday’s Mars/Neptune conjunctions along with Tuesday’s summer solstice keep everything on percolate mode. Stay ambitious, keep creative, push boundaries, take aim, and take flight. What’s next? Congratulations perhaps.
Scorpio
October 24 - November 22
Whether you get on a plane or not, your future is buckled in and ready to take flight. Don’t question your needs or impulses—or synchronicity’s prompts. You are at the start of so much more. Let your intuition thrust you into action. You should find excellent timing follows wherever you lead. Discuss, invest, and take it to the next step.
Sagittarius
November 23 - December 21
Now that the eclipses have launched you on your way, you’ll come to see that you are following the right course of action. The natural and swift flow of what comes next is confirming. Monday through Wednesday finds you completely submerged. Emotional responses and passions are especially peaked now, too. They want and need you, but it’s a two-way street.
Capricorn
December 22 - January 20
Today through the week’s end will keep you well on the go. Whether its career achievement or getting your day, kids, health, weight, or attitude under better control, Venus and Saturn suggest you are making steady progress now. Can you keep it up? Yes. There’s no backtracking now. You’ll build it even better from here.
Aquarius
January 21 - February 19
An idea, plan, bid, or relationship can be shaping up quite nicely. Even the difficult stuff should be easier to handle now. Make the most of the stars while they support and gift you so well. Fired-up Mars in Gemini (June 20 to August 2) delivers a boost to your career, luck, social, and love life.
Pisces
February 20 - March 20
Life and time is moving forward now, and quickly too. So much is coming together for you now. Tuesday’s summer solstice launches a great reward, pleasure, and play chapter. More than that, it is a time of karmic fruition and of stellar grace. Do not underestimate the potency of what is building for you now.

The telling astrology of game 7 was the fact that the transiting moon was in Sagittarius – this favours the visitor/foreigner. That it was a full moon and an eclipse too increases the imbalance and intensity of it all, making the game one-sided. That the sun was in Gemini alludes to the apparent or expected winner (the Canucks were the favoured ones going into the game), rather than the actual winner – the moon in Sagittarius which led to (a surprise for some) victory for the Boston Bruins. Eclipses are traditionally considered as ominous, although I don’t ascribe to this fatalistic interpretation.
The disappointment was doubled (Gemini) because we/the Canucks lost on home turf. The extremity of what happened in the city after the game is another statement on the very damaged collective psyche - on how we can so readily reach for violence first as a way of expressing our distorted emotions. Last night’s tragic fallout can be attributed not only the disappointment over the game, but how the general frustration of ordinary lives was channelled into one great big ball of destructive energy. Yes, it must be noted that it was a small cross section of the populace in action, not all youth or hockey lovers are proned to such disgusting behaviour, still, aggression as a first resort is far too rampant within the general collective psyche. At least those rioting elsewhere, such as in Middle East, have a worthy cause to fight for. I am usually so proud of my city, last night I felt shame and deep disappointment, not about the game loss, but about the shocking and barbaric display in Vancouver’s downtown core.
Luongo’s progressed moon is in Virgo, which is a weak and inferior position. No matter how hard you try with a Virgo moon, there’s always someone who does it better. Tim Thomas on the other hand, had the destiny stars on his side. His progressed Mercury/Moon was right on the lunar eclipse karmic axis (south node), which duplicates his own birthchart, and the transit of Venus trine Saturn was favourable to his Aquarius moon. He was so cool, collected, and confident throughout. He knew he was going to win. It was written all over his demeanour. It was in a sharp contrast to Luongo’s sensitive, hope-I-can emotions. (Luongo’s birth moon is in Cancer, which can run the gamut of up and down emotional tides.)
Virgo moons can be wonderfully efficient and accomplished too.
