Four RCMP officers on Surrey Six homicide case face charges

Four RCMP officers involved with the investigation of the “Surrey Six” homicide case are facing charges, the criminal justice branch of the B.C. attorney general’s ministry announced today (June 23).

Special prosecutor Christopher Considine has approved a total of 20 charges against the officers.

Derek Brassington, David Attew, Paul Johnston and Danny Michaud are scheduled to appear in court on July 11 in Vancouver.

The four officers are facing charges including breach of trust and attempting to obstruct justice. Brassington and Attew are also facing charges of fraud.

Considine was appointed as special prosecutor in November 2010 following an investigative report by the Ontario Provincial Police into allegations that an officer with the homicide investigation was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a potential witness.

Janice Armstrong, RCMP chief superintendent for the Lower Mainland, said she is "deeply disappointed" in the alleged actions of the officers involved.

"The investigators charged in this case were senior, experienced and trusted police officers," she said in a news release.

"Their alleged behaviour is completely contrary to the RCMP’s core values, and falls well below the standard the public expects from us.”

The officers involved in the allegations were suspended with pay, according to the RCMP.

“Given the seriousness of the allegations, processes are underway to request that these police officers be suspended without pay,” said Armstrong.

Five men have been charged in connection with the slaying that left six people dead in a Surrey condominium in October 2007.

How quickly things become 'old news' when they are of vital importance.

This cash-cow capitalist corporation that calls itself the "RCMP" is a FARCE.

The psycopathic Schadenfreude 'Yuppies' they hire to PROMOTE and ENCOURAGE crime should be ashamed of themselves for joining this nation's largest criminal organization. But then...psychopaths don't have a conscience, they only pretend they do.

It will never end, folks.
Unless there is a revolution or you all band together and stop paying taxes till your corrupt politicians pay attention...it won't end.

I can honestly say that I am ashamed to be Canadian. I wish I had never been born here.

Please, RCMP, take your undeserved billions, shut down your corrupt capitalist venture, and go retire on a tropical isle.

This country needs an enema.
Big time.
