As part of the Harmony Arts Festival, this Friday (August 5) West Vancouver Optometry will be sponsoring Cinema in the Park, an open-air screening of the award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

This drama follows the story of a young man who grows up in the slums of Mumbai, but dreams of a better life. Eventually, he wins a spot on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, but is arrested under suspicion of cheating after he correctly answers the final question and wins millions of rupees. His life story is told through flashbacks as he attempts to clear his name and make his way back to his soul mate.

Cinema in the Park takes place August 5, 9 pm, at John Lawson Park (16th and Argyle, West Vancouver). Admission is free, so bring a blanket and come on down!
