B.C. Lions acquire receiver Arland Bruce from Hamilton

In an effort to find somebody, anybody that can actually catch a football, the B.C. Lions have picked up veteran Arland Bruce from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for draft picks. In 11 CFL seasons, Bruce has 611 receptions for 9,416 yards including six 1,000-yard seasons.

It's a desperate move, but at 0-5 and with their season slipping away, the Lions are a desperate football team. Bruce is a proven pass catcher, but he also brings some baggage having worn out his welcome in Toronto after a falling out with the coaching staff there before moving on to Hamilton.

With dropped balls plaguing the Lions offence this season, a move like this one can't hurt. Bruce has shown he can make catches and hold on to the football. And based on that alone, Arland Bruce is a short-term upgrade on the youngsters the Lions were hoping would develop faster than they have this season.

Why are the teams in this city so adverse to following sports law?
When a team does not get to the top, win the cup, loses season after season, adult teams and owners fire the head coach.
We are always too late doing what others do in these circumstances, FIRE THE HEAD COACH NOW.
