Jonathan Fluevog lines up web-based studio series Vogville Presents

Tireless one-man industry Jonathan Fluevog is at it again, premiering a video series called Vogville Presents on his website on Tuesday (September 6). The Port Coquitlam–based producer and studio owner plans to post monthly webisodes of Vogville Presents, depicting his favourite local bands in the studio. The whole enterprise kicks off with the spotlight on very fine roots-rockers the Matinée.

“It was a real honour when he called and said he’d like us to be the inaugural band for this thing,” vocalist Matt Layzell said, calling the Straight from the Peak Performance Project Boot Camp in Princeton. The Matinée ended up recording “Absinthe” for Vogville, with Paul Shatto producing and two cameras trained on the band for the whole day.

“It was a bit of pressure,” Layzell said, “but it made for a really fun environment. We were there with a goal, and we’d done lots of preproduction. Having the camera there made everybody want to be there and be involved.”

You can also catch Vogville Presents: The Matinée at the band’s website.
