Hannah Georgas’s 2010 album This Is Good earned the singer no shortage of accolades, including two Juno nominations. Now Georgas has decamped to Toronto to work on the follow-up, with Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh handling production duties. “I’m here for two months,” Georgas revealed, going on to explain that she is subletting a room in the city’s Parkdale neighbourhood. “We’re going to be doing a lot of work at the apartment, and then starting beds in this barn outside of Toronto.”

The singer expects that her producer will help to push her songs in a more dance-friendly direction. “There’s going to be elements of electronica,” she said, “but it’s not going to stray far from the vein of what I do.” She expects to finish tracking by early November, and will then shop around for a record label in hopes of releasing the as-yet-untitled LP in spring 2012.
