Smartphone game banned from iPhone finds new home on Android

Phone Story made waves this week when it briefly appeared in the App Store before being pulled by Apple.

Forbes describes the game:

The game, which features rudimentary graphics and some narration, takes players through the life cycle of smartphones, using Apple as a guide. Players must first force children to work at gun point at a mine in Africa, and ([creator Michael] Pineschi hopes) start thinking about outsourced labor and the “rationale” of the market. In another level, a smartphone vendor throws phones at consumers who run towards the store at the release of a new model – Pineschi hopes this will get players to reassess their “commodity fetishism.”

Now, the banned anti-iPhone game—a project of Molleindustria, with help from the Yes Lab—has been released for Android.

So, at least you can learn about the dark side of your smartphone on that platform.
