The CDC offers up some Zombie Preparedness

We all know the drill with zombies. We’ve seen enough movies and read enough of the literature to know that when the rotted flesh hits the fan, it’s time to hole up in a farmhouse (Night of the Living Dead) a shopping mall (Dawn of the Dead), a prison (The Walking Dead) or even an urban assault vehicle (Land of the Dead).

And that’s great, once the zombie apocalypse has started. But do we ever really do any pre-planning, aside from some random thoughts about stuffing a .45, some hollow-tips, a handful of candy bars, and some clean underwear into a go-bag?

Luckily, the American Centers for Disease Control has.

To educate the public about emergency preparedness, the normally staid institution has created a 40-page comic book called Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic.

While the CDC’s tongue is firmly planted in its cheek, the comic does serve—quite entertainingly—to show the need for disaster readiness. It’s about zombies, to be sure, but it outlines procedures which can apply to almost all disasters.

To check it out, visit the CDC’s zombie page here.

And, when packing an easily transportable go-bag, just remember one thing: blades don’t need reloading.
