Family members of missing and murdered women walked through the Downtown Eastside today (February 14) as part of the 21st annual women's memorial march.

Thousands of participants began the two-hour march at Main and Hastings and filled the road as they walked down Water Street and then East Hastings, to the sound of drumming and singing. Elders stopped to hold ceremonies along the way for women that have been killed in the area.

The Vancouver march, held annually to honour missing and murdered women, coincided with similar events in cities across Canada.
