Cibo Trattoria's pre-theatre set menu a good option before the show

At 900 Seymour Street a block south of Robson, Cibo Trattoria is convenient for a preperformance meal, especially if you’re headed to the Orpheum. The Italian restaurant offers a $39 three-course set menu daily (except Sundays) from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. that changes depending on what’s best at the market—as does the rest of the brown-paper menu. Executive chef Neil Taylor’s dishes are top-notch and deliciously satisfying. Go for a quick theatre meal and you’ll want to return another night to linger. Taylor makes his own pasta and salumi, including the luscious mortadella that’s part of the potato, mustard, poached egg, and fontina salad ($13).
