Besides the climate, music fans have another reason to visit Penticton when the first annual Rock the Peach Music Festival comes to Kings Park this summer (July 27 to 29).
The lineup includes Three Dog Night, Sam Roberts Band, War, Treble Charger and Collective Soul, but don’t expect this to be a weekend of rock ’n’ roll debauchery. Sponsorship coordinator Colleen Matchett emphasizes this will be a family-friendly gathering.
“There’s going to be lots of activities for kids, and there will be magicians and jugglers and fire shows to keep it interesting for people of all ages”, Matchett told the Straight, adding that the event should draw about 9,000 visitors. “We expect it to be hot and beautiful.” Ticket information and weekend passes are available at the Rock The Peach website.
