Van Halen postpones more than 30 shows, Newt takes full responsibility

According to breaking news, Van Halen has just postponed more than 30 summer tour dates, with no explanation given.

According to Rollingstone.com, the group abruptly postponed all the concerts that were scheduled to happen after its June 26 show in New Orleans. The website quoted a source as saying the band members "hate each other" and are "arguing like mad".

I'm not particularly surprised by the postponements. In fact, I'll take full responsibility. No doubt my non-rave review of the group's May 7 show at Rogers Arena had a lot to do with the recent developments. Time for David Lee Roth to pack it in, I'm afraid. Nostalgia only goes so far.

Speaking of which, here's some nostalgia for ya. Maybe if they would have played this song in Van my review would have been a tad more positive.

DLR was brutal with them a few years back when I overpaid to see...only difference is Eddie is now clean

Steve, do you really thing a Vancouver rags review is going to fuel the split up? You don't pad their bank accounts! Stupid people do.
Roth is a prima donna and Eddie can't spend too much time away from the pipe.
They have always despised each other.
And they suck anyways.

Steve, I demand at least part of the credit/blame for this. On a side note, one of the most amusing things I read while researching my Pop Eye column a couple weeks ago (yes, I actually research these things) was that in 2002, when Sammy and Dave went on tour together, Hagar's "special guests" included not only Michael Anthony but also Gary Cherone. Roth's special guest was his ego, which demanded its own dressing room furnished with a bowl of brown M&Ms.
