It's official: Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon marries girlfriend in New York
Congratulations to Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni. The pair exchanged vows in New York on May 27.
The 46-year-old Emmy Award–winning Nixon, who played the career-minded lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the TV series and in movie adaptations, and 45-year-old Marinoni, an education activist, have been together since 2004.
The couple were engaged at a rally in support of same-sex marriage in New York in 2009. They had to wait until same-sex marriage became legal in the state on July 24, 2011. (Even Marvel Comics reportedly plans to depict a gay wedding—between Canadian characters, no less—there.)
The couple has three children: Nixon has two from her previous marriage to photographer Danny Mozes, while Marinoni gave birth to a son in February 2011.
