B’nai Brith Canada claims NDP caucus contains anti-Israel bias

The Jewish community’s advocacy and community-service arm nationwide has issued a stinging criticism of the federal NDP.

In a news release today (May 31), B’nai Brith Canada accused the party of an “anti-Israel sentiment” within its caucus.

According to the release, the organization has already alerted federal NDP leader Thomas Mulcair in regards to its concerns. The organization claimed that deputy NDP leader Megan Leslie has been “selectively promoting several anti-Israel events on her NDP website”, including Halifax Israel Apartheid Week.

Deputy NDP leader Libby Davies has also been “actively campaigning against Israel by bringing forward a petition in the House of Commons unfairly criticizing the Jewish State and calling on the Government of Canada to change its position towards Israel”, the release noted.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada, issued the following statement at the foot of the release:

“While we greatly admire Thomas Mulcair’s strong personal conviction in support of the Jewish State, which he has articulated publicly on multiple occasions, we do have concerns as to the growth of anti-Israel propaganda within the NDP. We are calling on the NDP leader to formulate a definitive, principled party stance regarding the Jewish State, to fully condemn the growing demonization of Israel within his party and to ensure that the NDP does not allow itself to be misused to spread anti-Israel propaganda.”

Let us be clear. No one, at any time for and for any cause, shall ever criticize the practices of the Israeli state, no matter how heinous. To do so is to suffer the burdensome label of anti-semite, which will be widely publicized through the mainstream media.

1/ Roy Romanow is not Jewish.
2. B'nai Brith swings wildly to the right, so this is hardly news.

While Israel is wiping Palestine off the map, the media claimed Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map (which he never said if look at his quote in context).

Libby Davies and Megan Leslie should use this opportunity to point out that Israel still hasn't signed the Non nuclear proliferation treaty and possesses hundreds of nuclear weapons while Iran has signed the NNPT and possesses none.

Iran allows nuclear inspections while Israel does not.
Iran hasn't invaded any country since becoming an Islamic republic but in the same time frame Israel has attacked Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon again, Syria again, Lebanon again, Gaza again and a Turkish aid ship in international waters bringing medical supplies and food to Palestinian victims of Israel's racial apartheid policies.
